The car will be launched at Geneva and make its racing debut in N\u00c3\u00bcrburgring long-distance events, including the 24 Hours meeting on May 15-16 2010.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"defaulttext\">Instead of batteries, the two 60kW electric motors use energy obtained from braking as a power source. A \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcflywheel generator\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, with a rotor spinning at speeds of up to 40,000rpm, allows the motors to convert the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcwasted\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 heat energy of braking into stored energy for brief bursts of power under acceleration. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"defaulttext\">In effect, the motors double as both generator and power source. <\/span><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.classicdriver.com\/upload\/images\/_uk\/14490\/img03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"269\" \/><br \/>\n<span class=\"defaulttext\">On the face of it, it would appear to be similar to the ill-fated \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcKERS\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 system in Formula One. The flywheel is located next to the driver for optimum weight distribution.
